Booking, Payment and Driving

Can you rent a car in Crete?

Yes. You need a valid EU or international driving licence and must meet the age and licence-holding requirements for your chosen vehicle group.

Do I need a credit card?

Not when the driver conditions are met. If they are not met, only CDW applies and a valid credit card is required.

Is a rental deposit required?

The standard policy is no deposit for eligible bookings. Exact conditions are confirmed in writing before collection.

What is the minimum driving age?

Most groups require drivers to be 23 with a licence held for 12 months. Groups R, R1, D, J, M, M1, M2, P7 and P9 require age 26 and a licence held for 24 months.

What does full insurance include?

It includes covered damage with zero excess plus wheels, underside and glass cover. Exclusions apply to negligence and prohibited use.

Can I drive on unpaved roads?

No. Insurance does not apply on unpaved roads, mountain tracks or prohibited routes, including the unpaved road to Balos.

Where can I collect the car?

At airports, ports, hotels, Airbnb accommodation and agreed addresses across Crete, depending on availability and confirmed terms.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Contact Customer Service immediately and provide the flight number. The team will update you on the revised meeting time and place.

Can I return the car to a different location?

Only when agreed in advance. Availability and any charge must be confirmed in writing.

Is there a cancellation fee?

The published policy provides free cancellation. Please give at least 24 hours notice whenever possible.

What is the fuel policy?

Return the vehicle with the same fuel level it had when collected.

Is the exact model guaranteed?

Bookings are normally made by category. When necessary, an equivalent or higher-category model may be supplied at the same rate.
